Emile Robinault is a painter based in Brittany. He explores acrylics, mixed techniques and palette knife work to create original artworks: seascapes, landscapes, cubism-inspired pieces and abstracts.
All original artworks are signed, countersigned and delivered with their certificate of authenticity. Some can be reproduced as limited-edition art prints (maximum of 10 on request).
“My name is Emile Robinault, and nature has guided me for as long as I can remember. As a child, I was fascinated by birds, plants, landscapes. Later, I made it my profession: landscape gardener for more than twenty years, hands in the soil, eyes outdoors, always connected to the living world. I have always lived near the sea. I bought a sailboat, navigated, explored the coastline, the light, the tides. Alongside my work, I renovated houses, stone after stone, as another way to create. Life then took me elsewhere: a tour of Europe in a camper van with my family, then two years in Madagascar, immersed in new colours, new seas, new landscapes. Scuba diving opened my eyes to a vibrant underwater world, which now often appears in my paintings. Back in France, I worked for ten years as an instructor in an ESAT, supporting adults with disabilities in the field of landscaping. And then one day, unexpectedly, something changed. At home, I grabbed a brush… and I painted. I had never painted before. I started at the age of 50. And within months, it became obvious: a need, a breath, a space where I could express myself differently. I am self-taught, I haven’t been painting for long, but every canvas tells what I have lived: the sea, the light, the travels, the stones, the underwater world, everything nature has taught me over fifty years.”
Welcome to my universe.”
